Design of an Object Oriented Environment for Planning Mobile Crane Lifts

چکیده
This paper describes the work done towards designing a computer aided system for planning crane operations on a construction site using object-oriented programming concepts. The use of object-oriented programming concepts for design is important as it facilities robust design, distributed development, modularity, reusability and easy extension of features. Based on the planning and representation requirements, an object-oriented analysis and design was done using the Booch method. The platform selected for implementation was AutoCAD Rel.14 with the AutoCAD Runtime Extension (ObjeciARX) in the Windows 95/NT operating system. This platform was found to support all important object-oriented constructs as well as the component object model (COM) which ensures plug-in capability and independent extensibility for various modules of the system. A detailed architecture of the system components within this environment has been developed and potential usage of this system is

Automation for Mobile Crane Motion Planning in Industrial Projects
Mobile cranes are used to lift heavy modules in industrial projects. These heavy modules are often prefabricated and each project consists of a large number of lifts (e.g., a typical industrial project may have between 150 and 1000 modules to be lifted). To ensure the safety and efficiency of these lifting activities, crane motion planning is needed. However, in practice, most of the heavy lift...
متن کاملVisual Tracking using Learning Histogram of Oriented Gradients by SVM on Mobile Robot
The intelligence of a mobile robot is highly dependent on its vision. The main objective of an intelligent mobile robot is in its ability to the online image processing, object detection, and especially visual tracking which is a complex task in stochastic environments. Tracking algorithms suffer from sequence challenges such as illumination variation, occlusion, and background clutter, so an a...
متن کاملA Computer-aided System for Planning and 3d- Visualization of Multiple Heavy Lifts Operations
Planning multiple heavy lifts on heavy industrial projects has a major impact on construction sequencing, scheduling, budgeting and safety. Hence it has to be planned carefully to reduce the risk and to reduce the cost and duration of the projects. Traditional planning techniques are quite unproductive as they use iterative and trail and error techniques. This paper discusses the work done towa...
متن کاملModelsaz: An Object-Oriented Computer-Aided Modeling Environment
Modeling and simulation of processing plants are widely used in industry. Construction of a mathematical model for a plant is a time-consuming and error-prone task. In light of extensive advancements in computer science (both hardware and software), computers are becoming a necessary instrument in industrial activities. Many software tools for modeling, simulation and optimization of proces...
متن کاملDeclarative Semantics in Object-Oriented Software Development - A Taxonomy and Survey
One of the modern paradigms to develop an application is object oriented analysis and design. In this paradigm, there are several objects and each object plays some specific roles in applications. In an application, we must distinguish between procedural semantics and declarative semantics for their implementation in a specific programming language. For the procedural semantics, we can write a ...
